Have you ever had
someone tell you to make a list of the qualities you would like in a mate? I
have, and yes, I made my list… But are our lists
unrealistic? Are we searching our own hearts and lives and asking ourselves if
we have the qualities we are requiring of our future partners?
The other day as
I was praying about my future husband, one thing I told God I would like to
have is a husband who is romantic. I have never really experienced the kind of
romance I’ve heard others talk about in their relationships, but I know and believe it does
exist… So, what is your idea of
romance? Create a picture in your mind right now of your idea of romance… Ahhh,
just think on that for a moment…
God is faithful
and spoke to me that night. He revealed to me something I’ve never thought of
or heard before. He said, “I am romancing
you all the time...You’ve just never taken the time to notice. I send you
the hummingbirds you love to see, the butterflies you love so much, the beautiful
array of flowers that bloom, and the paintings in the sky...All of the things you love to see and enjoy, I’ve
given them to you.” Pause, and really think about that for a moment…
Did you ever realize that God loves you SO
much He is romancing you every day in unexpected ways? That
He has given you the the very things you are asking for, maybe just not in the ways you think they
should come, or in the packages you think they should be in?
Take some time
today and think about the ways God has been romancing you, and thank Him. Thank
Him for meeting your desire for romance in a way no human can meet it…No one can compare to
our God! He is like no other!
Here He was, answering
my prayers for romance all these years! I just never realized it...Remember, humans
are just that, human. They will never live up to ALL of our expectations and they shouldn't have to, but GOD
WILL. God created us to be in relationship with Him…Ask Him to show you how He
has already met the qualities on your “list”. You just may be as pleasantly surprised
as I was…
